Helloooo blogosphere!
Can anyone else hardly believe its almost March already?! This year is flying by…. but i guess its a good thing because it means i’ve been super busy, which is true! The last show at The Bitter End, February 4th, was an absolute BLAST! The crowd was full and awesome and the guys played their hearts out – It was definitely the best show yet. The feedback was incredible… it was so hard to go back to work the next day, being on such a high and working on saturdays, of course – haha! In between the shows and work and everything else I managed to get back to working with Musicians On Call and spent some time at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore on February 9th. It’s always such an awesome experience going there – it warms my heart and soul instantly. At the end of the day, no matter what, having an opportunity to put a smile on a childs face simply by sharing my voice, is a truly powerful feeling. It’s why I love what I do and why i’ll never stop. Sharing your gift…it’s awesome and i’m proud to be a part of such a fantastic organization.
And for the big news of the past few weeks….. i’m going to be making an appearance on Weekend Today In NY on NBC!!! Yes, yours truly will be singing ‘Throwin Rocks’ on NBC on March 13th. It’s pretty crazy!! This will be my television debut, and i’m trying not to think about it too much because I don’t want to make myself crazy! No matter what, this is an incredible opportunity and i’m thrilled to have an experience like this. The challenge will be waking up at 330am : ) but it will be TOTALLY worth it!!! Hope you can tune in, or at least set those DVRs!
In other exciting news…. I have some shows coming up! One happening at The Living Room on March 19th and then it’s back to The Bitter End on April 2nd! Sheesh, before we all know, it’ll be April! I must admit (however I don’t like to rush my life) I cannot wait for the spring! It’s been such a horrible winter here in NJ and NYC- i’m over it!
Alright lovies, that be all for now! Make sure to check in with me on facebook and twitter (RachelMMusic) to keep up with all the going ons!
Peace love and rockin out!
Rachel

I guess its truly officially winter now that it’s snowed in NYC a few times!! We’re in for a long and cold one too! I try so hard to hate the winter but the truth of the matter is I’d rather be freezing than hot and sweaty! Plus my birthday is at the end of January so winter’s not all that bad, haha. It’s always fun to see the transformation of New York City into the holiday season… I can’t lie, I love all of the lights – I’m hoping to make my way over to see the big tree also.
Things are semi quiet on the music front. However I did just go back to sing at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx with Musicians On Call. This program was particularly fun because I decided to incorporate two of the only Christmas songs that I know: Jingle Bell Rock and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree! The kids definitely enjoyed it and I was very happy to bring some Christmas cheer to those adorable little nuggets! (btw – ‘nuggets’ is a word i use to describe cute little adorable people, generally under the age of 10, but not always) and I digress….
We’re gearing up here for an awesome new year! Shows are lined up for January and February and I couldn’t be more excited to get back on stage and sing for all of you! Make sure you keep up to date with all of my going ons via Facebook! Much love people!

December 1, 2010
Well, December is here!
For me, it came too quickly – what about you? As we’re getting closer to the end of 2010 I can’t help but start to reflect on the whirlwind of a year i’ve had. Really though… I just can’t believe how fast it went by. I remember back in February when I had been contacted to do the opening ceremonies for The Maccabi Games down in Virginia – feels like yesterday! And I couldn’t believe how fast August 1st had arrived, when it was finally time to sing in front of 3,000+ people! My biggest audience yet…. it was such an incredible experience, one of the many i’ve been able to have in this awesome year.
This past friday I did shows in local malls with Dane Michael Glynn, another artist who works with the music mentor herself, Denise Marsa. The shows went really well! At first, i thought it would be a little bit of an awkward experience, just singing out into a mall, but I had fun!! People were standing around watching, some clapping… I even spotted someone taking video while I was singing! Creepy? Or cool? We may never know : )
Alright kids, that’s all for now…. until then, ‘find your freedom in the music’, as the fabulous Miss Lady Gaga says
Much love!
Rachel

happy hump day everyone!
It’s easy to get happy on a Wednesday because the week is halfway over – but ive actually been having a great week so far! Voice lesson Mondays are always a success… Having voice on mondays is such a relief, mostly because it makes mondays bearable! (don’t like, you all know you hate mondays!)… seriously though, voice lesson Mondays are like a jolt in my day, my week – im thankful for them, they’re that perfect release of endorphins, better than exercising!
Work yesterday wasn’t even so bad – considering the weather was so miserable (blech!) the store was pretty quiet – which I welcome from time to time, especially on bad weather days. Bad weather days make me completely exhausted – anyone else??? Its like all i want to do when its raining is lay in my bed and watch romantic comedies, haha.
And now here i am at hump day. Wednesdays are usually a day off for me - I can unwind, get personal things done, things of that nature…. But today is a special wednesday because i’m going to the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx to perform for the kids as a part of Musicians On Call. Such a great organization and i’m so thankful to be a part of it. I try to be a part of the program as often as possible.. its so gratifying. So that’s where i’m off to this afternoon, and then it’s back to NJ to record demos of my new song with the one and only Music Mentor herself, Denise Marsa! Should definitely be a good time – always have fun in the studio : )
Welp, that’s all for now, folks! until next time….
much love, xoxo
Rachel
